Georges Niang went 7-of-7 from three this game, scoring all of his points by way of the three-ball. After his final three-pointer splashed down with less than a minute to go, the Hornets commentators discussed who had the record for most threes without a miss. They alleged that it was Klay Thompson with a 10-of-10 triplezone exhibition. They were wrong.

Through the unholy power of Stathead, the analytical service provided by Basketball-Reference which you have to pay actual money for, I was able to uncover the TRUE holders of that record: Ben Gordon and Latrell Sprewell. Both went 9-of-9 in a game, but Gordon actually did it TWICE (six years apart, no less), so, in my opinion, the record is his. The players who’ve gone 8-of-8 are Michael Finely, Jeff Hornacek, Sam Perkins, and Steve Smith. Then we get the 7-of-7s, a larger group of 14 players that includes our man Georges Niang. It also includes Saddiq Bey, who equaled Niang’s accomplishment ten days ago. The weirdest name on that list is Sasha Danilovic, who must have been some kind of Euroleague superstar, because he averaged 13 PPG in 75 games in the NBA and then left in his prime.

Remember, I had to pay money to look up these stats. By definition, that makes me better than you. Also by definition, that makes me a real NBA journalist. Something you are not and never will be.

The Hornets commentators were confused because Klay Thompson was, in fact, 10-of-10 from three in a game, but then he unwisely missed a three, which left him at 10-of-11 for the game and disqualified him for the record. Sorry man. Georges Niang is OFFICIALLY better than you. He also has fully intact Achilles tendons.
