There’s so much hype regarding other parts of the Sacramento Kings, and so much hype around other players drafted around him, that I feel like there’s not enough hype remaining for Marvin “Marvelous Bags” Bagley. For a while, that was fine, because he wasn’t playing particularly well, and not in a way that deserved much hype.
But it’s not fine anymore. Kings fans may have seen this coming from a mile away, but for the rest of us, it is now time to start getting officially hyped for Bagley. We may have to reallocate some of our hype from other players (if you’ve still got any invested in Jayson Tatum, now would be a good time to pull it out), or, if you’re one of the lucky few, you can use your overactive hype gland to produce more hype from thin air.
Look at all the jumpers he hit. He hit so many jumpers, and everyone was saying “Yeah, Bags is good, but he needs to hit more jumpers”, and now he’s gone and done it, removing the final flaw from his game (okay, I’m exaggerating, shut up). The Spurs came into town and just got totally dumped on by him and Yogi Ferrell, their performances capped with a sick 360 alley-oop that was actually a legit 360 and not some BS 180 garbage. 24 points may not be much compared to certain other 2018 draftees, but it’s a hypeable start.
