Jason Thompson is the longest-tenured player on the Kings. In a sense, that makes him the “franchise player”, and thus, it’s his fault that the Kings never end up with more than thirty wins. I bet it drives him crazy that they are constantly bringing in players to take his minutes, yet never have the compassion to trade him. I mean, it’s obvious he’s not a core piece, and it’s questionable whether he’s even starter-quality, so they should just make him go away and then start assembling a real team around DeMarcus Cousins.
Or, you could get rid of Cousins and start J-Thomp at center. Judging from this game, he is ultra-efficient at that position, since it doesn’t require him to do anything away from the basket.
Somebody should get me on the line with Kings ownership. They need to hear this.
