What the heck am I doing? The second night of the season, tons of sweet performances to compress into three-minute long YouTube videos, and I’m sitting here making Brook “Blowpez” Lopez highlights.
Even in the best of times, this dude simply doesn’t generate the most video views. Since I don’t make any ad money (or any money) from this godforsaken venture (thanks NBA!), I could in theory make videos based on how good I think the output would be, rather than how many eyeballs it would draw. Maybe that’s what a true artist would do.
And let’s be honest here: Brook Lopez is a damn fine offensive player. Artistic, even. Way more elegant than a stiff like Blake Griffin. Say what you will about his “tissue-paper defense” or “lackluster rebounding”, but he can put the ball in the hole with the best of them. There is no reason why highlight vids of him should be shunned by almost the entirety of YouTube watchers.
