The Nuggets’ season is far enough down the tubes that they allowed Danilo Gallinari to lend his commentating expertise to the broadcast last night. If the game actually meant something for either team, they probably wouldn’t have done that, but both the Kings and Nuggets are playing for fun at this point, so why not let Gallo run off some high-speed Italian while the two old guys next to him smile indulgently? So if you’re thinking that the commentary is harder to understand than usual, it’s not that you’ve mysteriously lost your ability to parse the English language, it’s because you’re listening to Italian.
I don’t usually wish injuries on anyone, but I hope Joffrey Lauvergne gets a splinter in his foot so that he misses a game and then they can have him commentate in French. I’m sure we all agree that Axel Toupane highlights would be a much more complete experience if somebody was yelling in French over the top of them.
