Once again we are treated to Alexis Ajinca basically being Anthony Davis minus the unibrow and the hype. Ajinca does all the same things that Davis does, and he does them just as well, and he’s taller…so why does Kendrick Perkins of all people get the same amount of minutes as him? It’s too late to enact any changes that will have a meaningful effect on season minute totals, but Perkins should have never seen the floor EVER. Give Ajinca all those minutes.
Here’s a fun fact: Alexis Ajinca is entering his prime right at this very moment. Even as I type this description his prime is happening. Prime juice is flowing through his veins and priming him up. Kendrick Perkins’ prime juice, meanwhile, dried up a long time ago. He has to steal his from other players just to have enough energy to shoot a free throw. And don’t even get me started on Omer Asik. His prime probably happened before he was born.
Luckily, Ajinca is under contract for a few more years, so the Pelicans get to hog his entire prime for themselves. If they squander it, I’m going to be so mad.
