Oops, sorry, these highlights aren’t as sweet as I thought they’d be. I mean, I knew that Tyler Ennis only making 3 buckets was going to be iffy. I knew that. I knew that going in to the operation. But, you know, I thought that the 11 assists he had would be pretty rad. Why did I think that? Because Jabari, Giannis, and Miles Plumlee all had decent games, and those dudes all love to dunk the basketball. I imagined Ennis passing them the ball right on the money for repeated ferocious whamjams.
Instead, it turns out that the Celtics’ scorekeepers just hand assists out like my local police department hands out speeding tickets (SCHOOL ZONE MY FRICKIN’ ASS). I think I found out the reason that Boston has so many 30-assist games as a team even though they don’t seem like an elite passing team, and it’s because their scorekeepers are incapable of telling whether a pass leads to a basket or not.
Ennis was the beneficiary in the boxscore, but damn, it makes this vid really suck.
