Robert Covington is shooting a shade over seven threes per game this season. Only a few players can claim to surpass that number, and they all make sense: Curry, Thompson, Harden, and Lillard. Kyle Lowry and Paul George are pretty close.
However, over his last seven games, Covington has shot the following amounts of threes: 14, 7, 10, 10, 13, 17 10. Over eleven per game. That’s Curry territory right there. Covington basically shoots any three-pointer that is available to him at this point. Now I’m trying to figure out whether the coaching staff TOLD him to play that way or if he’s so tired of the 76ers losing season that he’s saying “screw it I’m going to have fun out there”.
I hope it’s the former, because I want to see Covington shoot eleven threes per game for the entirety of the 2016-17 season.
