Of all the random scrubs I was expecting to do highlights of today, Joel Anthony seemed pretty unlikely. Well, that’s a lie, he wasn’t on any list of potential scrub vids because I hadn’t even thought about his existence for the whole year. For real. He’s been on the Pistons, but he never plays, and he especially never puts up stats.
Well, now I’m aware of him again. 7 points may seem unimpressive, but for Joel, it’s a veritable scoring bonanza. But the 8 blocks are the real show here. Everyone has heard that he’s a good defender (how else could he possibly remain in the league?), but now the evidence is right there for everyone to see: he can protect the paint in a Whiteside-esque manner as long as it’s Sasha Kaun doing the shooting.
