Adjusting for the strength of an average NBA team not playing in the last game of the season, we can estimate Tyus Jones performance against the Pelicans as 4 points and 6 assists. Still pretty good, probably one of his better games, but not as attractive as the 9 and 12 he “actually” put up.
I don’t want to throw shade on Tyus here, but the Pelicans really weren’t even trying on defense. Passing the ball in transition seemed to lead to a bucket every time. He still had to make those passes, and he still had to make his shots, so I can’t hate too hard. It’s not his fault that they didn’t want to guard Shabazz Muhammad.
