When it’s the playoffs and you’re the Thunder and your leading scorer’s last name isn’t “Durant” or “Westbrook”, you know you screwed up. The entire point of having superstars is so that they can take over in the playoffs. The point of having two superstars is so that one can take over extra hard if the other one for some reason fails to do so. If Serge “Dirge” Ibaka is going to score nineteen points, it should be because the offense is flowing smoothly and he’s getting a lot of easy buckets, not because he’s the team’s most potent offensive weapon.
I could also talk about how LaMarcus Aldridge mysteriously went off for 38 with Ibaka guarding him much of the way, but DownToBuck doesn’t care about defense, and DownToBuck absolutely will never talk about defense in his descriptions, and anyway it was mostly Kanter’s fault probably.
