Well, the Raptors managed to squeak out the series victory, but it was on the back of the Chuck Bros shooting a combined 15-of-46 from the field in this game, not exactly a recipe for success against a tougher opponent. Meanwhile, Norman “Normie” Powell shot a very efficient 5-of-6 in his limited time off the bench, and proved to be a valuable source of scoring at a time when DeRozan was clanging fifteen-foot turnarounds every other possession. Do Raptors fans even want that guy back? Or do they all hope that Los Angeles will offer him a max contract so he can be the next Kobe Bean?
That would actually be okay because then Powell would be unleashed in a way that he can never be as long as there are is an “all-star” SG clogging up the roster. While we’re at it, can somebody take Terrence Ross away too? It could be like a package deal: whoever signs DeRozan for too much money also has to trade for Ross and his big-bucks contract so they can have a SG rotation with experience winning a playoff series. Snicker. Snort.
