Anyone with half of a brain knows how much of a chance to succeed Doug McDermott is going to get this year. There will be talk about him having to play defense to stay on the court, but realistically, he could sit in the corner and pick his nose on that end of the court and still get minutes. The Bulls need his spacing ability way more than they need to not play 4-on-5 on defense.
This is great news for DownToBuck, who really doesn’t give a hoot about defense at all. Defense doesn’t make highlights. Buckets make highlights. Who better to get buckets than Dougie McBuckets? The Bulls have a lot of prolific bucket-makers, true, but unless you really believe that Dwyane Wade added a three-point shot to his arsenal, we can bet on seeing 20-point games from McDermott on the regular.
