Kent Bazemore was in a pretty big slump to start the season, shooting below 30% from the field (AKA “The Nikoloz Tskitishvili Zone”). Even if you didn’t know that fact going into this video, you would figure it out quickly based on how often the commentators refer to Bazemore’s made shots being “good to see” or how his on-court success means that “Baze is back.” They really wanted him to succeed, not only for his sake, but for the sake of all Hawks fans, none of whom want to sit through a season where the Bazed God’s true shooting percentage hovers in the forties.
It will take a few more of these games to get Bazemore back to last year’s shooting percentages, but it should be easier now that the slump is broken. All it took was the Rockets’ atrocious defense to get the Bazed God’s season back on track.
