Take a look at Semaj Christon’s name. Notice anything weird? You shouldn’t. Seems like a normal black-person name to me, and it should to you as well. Nothing out of the ordinary here. But wait! If you take a close look… his last name, “Christon” is pretty much the word “Ostrich” spelled backwards! Whoa!
I don’t know what kind of symbolism his parents were going for when they decided their last name would be Christon. Something esoteric, surely, since ostriches don’t carry very many connotations, negative or other, by themselves. They’re just big flightless birds with big flightless eggs.
Palindromic names aside, Semaj had a pretty decent game tonight, gobbling up big minutes after Russell Westbrook did all the heavy lifting to earn the huge margin. He had some nice shots, and dimed Enes Kanter 5 times, ignoring his other teammates.
