I pretty much thought that Ryan Anderson was going to be a total beastmonster with Houston. So did you, I’m sure. Don’t try to abnegate the responsibility you hold for having those thoughts. Don’t even TRY to abnegate it, dude.
The fit was (is???) just too perfect. A mindless three-point assassin playing on a fast-paced D’Antoni-led no-defense team with a PG-type-thingie that will definitely pass him the ball if it thinks it can get an assist out of it. Pace and space I think it’s called. Pace and space feat. James Harden.
It hasn’t worked so well thus far. I was expecting like 20 ppg at least, not the 12 or whatever he’s currently averaging. The Rockets are so lacking in actual offensive talent that they almost need him to score that much to be competitive (who am I kidding, all they need is Harden to keep putting up 30-15 games). Anderson needs to step it up a little bit if the offense is going to be good enough to make up for their horrible defense.
