Add Seth Curry to the “List of Dudes People Thought Would Be Better On a New Team”. He’s not WAY off what he was doing last year with the Kings (unless you’re looking at his last few games with them, then yeah, he’s way off), but I was thinking major improvement was in store for him.
And it’s not like the Mavericks are in a sitch where they’re too good to be giving him minutes. They’re, like, the farthest thing from good right now with Dirk out. The Real Splash Brother is a theoretically excellent addition for them, as a player who shoots and makes three-point shots, something Wesley Matthews doesn’t do anymore. Neither does Seth apparently; 5 of 17 isn’t the 45% he was canning in Sactown.
Still, the season is young, and the sample sizes are small. Seth still has a ton of time to improve. That’s right, I’m being optimistic about a player who is kind of sucking. DownToBuck doesn’t write off players as quickly as he used to. Except for Dion Waiters. Why did everyone think that dude turned good all of a sudden?
