Marcus “Maahcus Smaaht” Smart is currently shooting considerably better from distance than last year, when he notched a sweet 25% mark on four attempts per game. It’s still early, though, so I hold out hope that Smart will regress from his current 38% clip and I can continue to mock him for his comically unaware shot selection. As you know, my only purpose in life is to denigrate players who don’t live up to whatever standards (realistic or otherwise) that I have arbitrarily set for them. Marcus Smart certainly didn’t meet those expectations last year and I don’t want him to meet them this year. If he does, maybe I’ll just modify my expectations to make them unreachable.
Are Celtics fans still not shutting up about the defensive potential this guy has? I don’t often visit their normal gathering spaces so I’m not really aware of their opinions. Maybe they hate Al Horford. Maybe they’re done with Avery Bradley and Isaiah Thomas. Maybe they think that Tyler Zeller should be the full-time starting center and that Terry Rozier is the future. I honestly don’t know.
