Are 76ers fans still really pissed that Nik Stauskas even made the team? I feel like I saw a bunch of angry social media posts after the last player (Cat Barber maybe?????) was cut and Sucksass remained.
Oh yeah, I wasn’t gonna use that nickname for him anymore. My bad.
Anyway, I felt like it validated what everyone knows about sports fandom: unknown quantities are WAY over-valued. Just because you haven’t seen a lot of them doesn’t mean they’re any good (remember how much you wanted Toure’ Murry to play, Knicks fans? I am having a hearty LOL at your expense). Like, if a player is even in danger of getting cut from the 76ers, it’s extremely unlikely that they’d perform better than even the low standard Stauskas has set.
It may sound like I am defending Stauskas here. Maybe I am. I watched that video of him shooting threes on a drizzly day, making it rain in the rain. Where did THAT Stauskas go? He’s in there somewhere, waiting to be unleashed.
