There are a ton of people who are hyped for James Young, relative to his demonstrated on-court ability. Where did this hype come from? I’m too lazy to really find out, so I’m just gonna guess that he was a hyped prospect who went to Kentucky and was then drafted into the NBA at a young age, a combination of HoopMixTape/NCAA powerhouse/Super young player/Celtics hype that far outpaced what he would end up doing in his first two years in the league.
He must have shown something this summer, because he was retained on the Boston roster over R.J. Hunter. That “something” has now manifested itself into actual production: 12 points, the first 12 of the season for Mr. Young. Such scoring has not been seen from him since a 13-point outburst in his rookie, my video of which has over 50,000 views.
See what I was talking about with regards to hype?
