Every fanbase whose team acquires Justin Holiday seems to get extremely hyped for him despite his historical lack of production. This puzzled me for some months until I realized the reason for the hype, vain as it might be: these fans are watching MY highlight videos and coming away from them with the impression that Holiday will be some kind of reliable, go-to scorer.
Every fan wants to believe that the players they received in a deal are good. You obviously don’t want to have traded for a bad player. That’s what Knicks fans did with Derrick Rose (LOL [lots of laughs]), and, to a lesser extent, Justin Holiday and Joakim Noah, when those three players arrived in a package from Chicago. And I enabled their optimism by making a video that shows Holiday scoring 29 points.
That was my bad. Sometime soon I’m going to take down that video along with all my other Holiday videos. This one will probably stay up a week before it gets the axe. Once my channel is purged of all evidence of Holiday being a decent baller, I’ll upload a bunch of videos that show Holiday bricking jumpers and turning the ball over. Then, the next fanbase that receives him will think he sucks and I won’t have all this guilt weighing me down like a whole box’s worth of Hot Pockets sitting in an undigestible lump in my stomach.
