Jerian Grant 18 Points/5 Steals Full Highlights (11/15/2016)

Count me among those who remain unconvinced by Jerian Grant. It’s well known that Phil Jackson reached when drafting him because he’s obsessed with big point guards or something, so it’s not like it’s Jerian’s fault that he’s not living up to his draft slot, but still. He was not very good in New York and hasn’t been very good in Chicago. He doesn’t really have a jumper, his handles are suspect, and he doesn’t have outstanding court vision or anything like that. He’s like a shorter MCW. And that’s bad news because he’s on the same roster as MCW.

If you ask Bulls fans they were done with this guy before preseason was over. If you ask Knicks fans they were done with him about ten games into last season. If you ask Phil Jackson he’ll admit that he screwed up. If you ask Fred Hoiberg he won’t comment but the DNP’s speak for themselves. If you ask me I’ll use the “B” word even though he wasn’t even drafted in the lottery.

Maybe one day Jerian will be a really good player and all this stuff I typed will seem embarrassing and reactionary. That’s cool. For now I’m just going to keep doubting that such a day will ever arrive.

UPDATE: I can’t even tell if Phil Jackson actually drafted Jerian. He was traded a few times on draft night. All I know is that somebody drafted him and it might have been at Phil’s direction. Who knows?
