It’s hard for me not to get hyped when I see a big man make this many jumpers. Myles Turner doesn’t just make one or two jumpers per game; his whole offensive repertoire seems to consist of jumpshots in every conceivable form. Basketball-reference says he’s shooting 60% from the long midrange area, which, if true, means that he’s like a primer than prime version of Chris Bosh without clots. And without a big three because Monta Ellis doesn’t count (Paul George does, however, count).
Let’s pretend for a minute that Porzingis and Turner were swapped. Turner would be hyped so relentlessly by the New York media that he would be just as popular as Krispy is now. Meanwhile, Krispy would be regarded as the next Troy Murphy in Indiana. Something to think about.
