Devin Booker 30 Points/6 Threes Full Highlights (11/21/2016)

Did any of the pre-draft scouting thingies have Devin Booker becoming what he is right now, that being a total chucker?

Most people had him pegged as a spot-up shooter, at least early in his career. But we already saw it last year as soon as the Chuck Bros (Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight) went down; Booker wants to just shoot and shoot and shoot until his arms fall off, sometimes getting assists but turning it over at the same rate.

Don’t think that I’m complaining here. I’m definitely not complaining. I like this chuckerified version of The Booker Report. It helps that his shot is aesthetically pleasing, I guess, and it helps that he’s a young player. He still can have excuses made for him about his efficiency, or lack thereof, whereas someone like Knight has aged out of any such excuses.

Tonight’s performance was the epitome of me-first shooting; 30 points on 26 shots with no free throws and only 2 assists. Again, I’m not complaining. More young players like him need to have the confidence to put up shots. Don’t worry about treading on toes or anything. Now, If he’s still doing stuff like this 3 years from now, yeah, I’d be worried. Don’t want him to go the Damon Stoudamire route.
