I feel like Pacers analyst Quinn Buckner might be losing it. He’s always been somewhat of a spastic, blustery commentator, randomly changing tack halfway through a thought, usually to insist that one or the other coach needs to take a timeout ASAP. However, he’s worringly begun to call players by the wrong name, or combine their names. It only happens once in this video, where Teague apparently makes a nice pass to Teague, but I caught it a few more times during the editing process.
This is like watching your gram-grams slowly lose her memory until she no longer remembers who you are. Except this is sadder because the Pacers really suck this year and having their commentator lose his marbles for the whole world to see just piles on the agony. And everybody knew gram-grams was getting to that age anyway, so it’s not really a big deal, right? Buckner is too young to be calling Thaddeus Young “Thad Turner” (and then murmuring a confused “Ed Jones” under his breath?) because he’s got protein plaque building up all over his neurons, slowly rendering them ineffective.
This is like that YouTube video where Ralph Lawler seems like he’s having a stroke on-air.
