Did something happen to all my French subscribers? Are they getting their highlights from other sources? Perhaps some “French NBA Players Only” YouTube channel? Because I’ve been over here uploading Gobert, Fournier, and Lauvergne highlights for their benefit, only to see these videos consistently fall short in terms of view counts.
It used to be I could upload Lauvergne scoring ten points and it would get posted on basket-infos.fr and it would get a gorillion views. I could upload a closeup video of his hairy armpit and get three times that many views (because French people like hairy armpits). These days, I’ll upload a video featuring Lauvergne scoring a totally respectable amount of points and nobody from France will even bat an eye. It’s like they gave up on basketball entirely, or at least they gave up on the young talent which has come out of their country.
That is why DownToBuck is starting a new promotion for his loyal French viewers. No, it’s not gloves, and it’s not 3D-printed figurines either. For every French person who watches this video and leaves a comment, I will mail to their house a gift basket containing crusty baguettes, smelly cheese, and expensive wine. You can’t beat these insane deals my friends.
The fine print is that it’s actually just a picture of the gift basket because I don’t currently have the funds to assemble and ship real gift baskets. But that should still be enough incentive to get French people to watch my damn Lauvergne videos. I have one of the pictures in front of my right now and it actually looks pretty tasty, not gonna lie.
