Eric Gordon banks in a three in this video. That alone should disqualify him from ever being considered a good player ever again. Ever. And it’s not like it was a heave or an off-balance shot; he just squared up from the top of the three-point line and chucked it about a foot too far.
You might argue, “DTB, don’t be a stoopy-poop. The backboard is there so that shots like that can go in.” That argument is wrong because the backboard is only for layups. The backboard is not for jumpers unless you’re Tim Duncan, and he’s retired now so the backboard is not for jumpers period. You’re wrong. In netball there is no backboard and everybody has way more fun; in fact, it’s undeniably the better sport because of the lack of backboard.
If the backboard was supposed to be used on three-point attempts, do you think Jazz fans would have groaned when Gordon did what he did? No. Jazz fans know their basketball and they know that Gordon’s shot flies in the face of everything that is holy. In fact, I should probably just delete this video now.
