Kris Dunn 11 Points/3 Blocks Full Highlights (1/1/2017)

I am still waiting for Kris Dunn to supplant Ricky Rubio as the Timberwolves’ starting point guard. That is what I was told would happen. I was told that Ricky was redundant. I was told that Ricky should be traded and Dunn should start right away. I was told that Dunn would complete Minnesota’s young lineup and elevate them to playoff contention. These are all things I was told by many people, people who consider themselves intelligent NBA fans. I am waiting for these things to happen.

While I wait, I can enjoy Dunn’s anemic production and seeming unreadiness for the NBA game.

I can’t really blame people for being optimistic about him; lord knows how many times I’ve allowed myself to get overhyped for rookies before realizing that they are, indeed, rookies. Rookies are hardly ever good, and penciling them in for any sort of role is only going to end in missed expectations. Most of the time. Sometimes you get an exception (woo woo we got Brogdon we got Brogdon woo woo), but not this time, because the Dunnwich Horror has been straight-up not good.

He did some good things tonight, in a higher concentration than usual. Could Tyus Jones have done the things that Dunn did tonight? Is Dunn even better than Tyus Jones right now? This is a sweet point-guard battle that is going totally unnoticed.
