22 points in 20 minutes is just the kind of thing we’ve come to expect from Enes “Freddie Mercury” Kanter. That kind of scoring rate was something we saw last year, but somehow he’s improved in that area a little bit. My theory: he is shooting it every single time Westbrook passes him the ball, even if he’s in a bad position, so Westbrook can get his precious triple-doubles. That also explains why his rebounding is slightly down this year; why grab rebounds when Westbrook’s rebound stats are way more important than yours?
Kanter is truly a selfless person, sacrificing like this to help out his teammate.
If you’ve been wondering where the Kanter highlights have been lately, well, 20 doesn’t seem like enough points for such a capable scorer, and two games ago when he had 23 there were too many free throws. So there. 22 points is enough for a vid. 20 is not. Not for Kanter.
Also, sorry for the commentary switch just before Kanter made that buzzer-beating three. The Thunder broadcast got REALLY screwed up, so instead of hearing your favorite Oklahomans get all excited for a Kanter three, you get to hear the Charlotte people be audibly disgusted by the situation.
