The big news for the Heat is that Justise Winslow is probably going to miss the rest of the season after he had surgery on some part of his arm or something (probably to fix his broken shot LOL [lots of laughs]). Early returns (read: just this game) indicate that the Heat offense might be better if Winslow is not involved in it at all and if Tyler Johnson just gets to do whatever he wants.
Let’s be real for a second: Tyler Johnson is like a better version of Dion Waiters with a little bit of Goran Dragic thrown in for flavor. That’s real talk. He can be the primary offensive weapon if he wants. Maybe he already is. He does it all and he does it relatively well, and the Heat’s season, if it wasn’t over by the first game (it was), is definitely over now, so you might as well try to develop the guy you paid big bucks to in the offseason.
With no Winslow clogging up the offense with his bricks, no Dion Waiters for a while, and no big-name scorers on the roster, now is the time for Tyler Johnson to take a flying leap towards the pendulously swinging balls of opportunity, latch on to them for dear life, then pluck the scrotum hairs out of that wrinkly sack of skin one by one until he’s averaging eighteen points per game on 45% shooting. Anything else will be a disappointment.
