I can’t tell if it’s a good or bad thing that the Boston crowd was chanting “trust the process” as Joel Embiid was shooting free throws near the end of the first half. Maybe it’s neither. Maybe it’s a third option: “ironic”. Or a fourth option: “trying to piss of Jae Crowder even more”.
In any case, the Celtics faithful came to their senses by the end of the game, booing lustily as Embiid hit two free throws to put the 76ers up by two late in the game. Spoiler alert, do not read ahead if you do not want to get spoiled regarding the conclusion of this game. FINAL SPOILER WARNING:
The 76ers lost.
SPOILER ALERT ENDED. You may continue reading starting here.
Actually I don’t have much left to say. Embiid had a good first half, but then disappeared with foul trouble until a few minutes remained in the game. If he can cut down on the fouls and turnovers, he will be a total beast instead of the semi-beast he is now.
