Where’s the playmaking? I was promised playmaking from Dario Saric, and I have not received it. He flashed a bit of it earlier in the season, but lately the 1 and 0-assist games have been piling up for him. 2.5 assists per game isn’t terrible, and his assist percentage is about league average, but I expected more. Not a whole megaton more, but more.
Yeah, I know, my fault for expecting anything at all from a rookie. My bad. But I heard a lot of crowing from 76ers fans about how NBA-ready this guy was and how amazing he was going to be, and I got my hopes up a little bit. I, just like everyone else, want the 76ers to be good again. Saric was going to be part of that.
DOWNTOBUCK’S OFFICIAL REMEDY: Let Saric be the PG for a whole game or two or five. Sergio Rodriguez and T.J. McConnell are competent, but let’s be honest, they aren’t the future. Saric is the future. Such an experiment likely wouldn’t end well for Saric, but by the end of it we would know where we stand with him. And, we would probably get tons of Saric-Embiid pick-and-rolls. Saric and Noel pick-and-rolls as well, I bet. Make it happen, Brett Brown. You know you want to tank harder than this.
