Devin Booker 28 Points Full Highlights (1/8/2017)

This is just the seventh time in thirty-seven games that Devin Booker has shot at or over 50% from the field in a game. We can go around in circles arguing about his development all we want, but I think we can all agree that he’s currently being asked to do more than he is capable of doing. His shooting has regressed while his volume has gone way up (top twenty in shots attempted per 36). Whether or not that is good for his development is another question entirely.

One thing I will say is that this development strategy is great for people like me who only want to see high point totals and don’t especially care how they are acquired as long as they don’t involve too many free throws. Sometimes the Booker Report’s good games will even be attained efficiently, which is a bonus treat. And these videos always involve a lot of nifty scoring because he’s looking for his own shot so much. It’s great. I don’t care if it might be ruining his future ability to be an efficient player. What I care about is highlight videos in the here and now, not five years in the future when the Suns are still only winning thirty games a season.
