Patty Mills has been with the Spurs for 6 seasons now. That’s a long time to be content with a 20-minute or less bench role. A LONG time. I’m sure he’s thought about what it would be like to have his own team, his own team where he can get 35 minutes and shoot it all the time. I’m wondering the same thing.
Unfortunately, there are only 30 teams in the league, and I can’t think of any that would allow Mills to be the main guy on offense. Don’t cry, Patty fans! I have the solution: an expansion team, just for Patty, so he can be a beast and score 20 points per game! This is gonna be a bit unorthodox, so bear with me.
This new team made just for Patty is gonna be in Australia. The third franchise located outside the USA, and first outside North America. Call them the Alice Springs Outbacks. Because the arena is gonna be in Alice Springs, which is in the Australian outback, which is the name of the team. Perfect! Have an expansion draft, tell them to make sure to get Patty, and maybe we can also see Anthony Bennett also getting 35 minutes a game and unbusting himself. Oh hell yeah. I talked with some bogan cunts in Alice Springs and they’re totally down. This is gonna be sweet.
