Ivica Zubac 12 Points/3 Blocks Full Highlights (1/25/2017)

This is one of those times where I feel like I should include the player’s statline either in the title in the video or at the very tippy-top of the description. Ivica Zubac had a good game if you only go by the title of the video and the actions depicted in the video; you see five made field goals, some perfect free throws, and 1.5 blocks (the scorekeepers gave him an even three so I grudgingly used that number).

However, Zubac was five of fifteen from the field (quite poor for a guy who only has to lift up his arms to have the ball right up next to the basket) and had four turnovers. The esteemable basketball-reference has his performance as the 105th best performance of the night out of 199 players who received minutes (Jared Sullinger is #199 in case you’re wondering [he’s fat]). That means, theoretically, I should make 104 highlight videos before I make one for Zubac.

That’s crazy, of course. Everybody wants to see Zubac because he’s young, he’s foreign (Croat actually), and he plays for the Lakers. And those people don’t care if he actually had a bad game, because in having his bad game, he SHOWED some things, and that’s what people want to see at this point. Him SHOWING stuff. Maybe even SHOWING OUT. So that’s what this video depicts. No more or less.
