Wayne “Beef W” Ellington: budget version of Kyle Korver?
Sort of. Korver, despite his slumpy-wumps lately, shoots better from three and from the field than Beef W does. And Ellington has never been an “elite” three-point bomber like Korver is. But they play a similar style of running for jumpers off of curls, and neither of them ever dunks the ball. Looking at the numbers, Ellington actually has Korver soundly beaten in the dunk category, 43 to 19, and Korver has played over twice the amount of career games that the Beefy One has played in.
Since we have determined that the Heat kinda have a budget Kyle Korver on their team to go along with budget Dwyane Wade (Dion Waiters), budget LeBron (James Johnson), and budget Zoran Dragic (Goran Dragic), why did it take them this long to start winning games? They basically have a roster that consists of worse versions of well-known NBA superstars, and finally those worse versions have pulled it together, giving the Heat their current five-game winning streak.
In celebration of their feat, I’m going to go watch some of those Hells Kitchen episodes where Gordon Ramsay yells at everybody for trying to serve badly-prepared Beef Wellingtons.
