Clint Capela and Nene went a combined 17-of-24 from the field last night against the 76ers. For some reason, D’Antoni’s rotation was super tight and only eight guys played, but you can bet that if Montrezl Harrell had been out there he would have scored around twenty, mostly on dunks like his two frontcourt-mates. Embiid and Noel are supposed to be good defenders I think, but they totally failed to stop their direct counterparts on the other team and the result was an absolute dunk bonanza.
I suppose that Harden collecting a fifty-point trippy-dubby had something to do with it, but you would think that if they weren’t stopping Harden, they would be stopping somebody else. Ryan Anderson was stopped but that was his fault. Corey Brewer was also stopped but that was also his own fault. Nobody who was hitting shots was ever stopped at any point. And the Sixers only lost by five after all was said and done. Sometimes I wish I had time to actually watch all the games so I could figure out what the heck happened here.
So, thanks to the Sixers’ poor defense (a lot of teams seem to have poor defense against the Rockets…), you get to watch Capela dunk it five times, and then you can go back and watch my Nene video from this game where he also dunks it five times. It’s like a mini-dunkilation that you don’t have to wait until the end of the season for! Wow!
