One of the signs of a team in crisis is seriously wack rotations. Playing time is offered and withdrawn at random, players that start one game may not play the next, a healthy DNP turns into 30-plus minutes turns into 5 minutes turns into another DNP. That is where the Bucks are at right now; trying every conceivable combo of starters and bench players, trying out crazy lineups. The only constant is that Steve Novak doesn’t get to play and Giannis does get to play. That’s it.
Michael Beasley played only 7 minutes last game, didn’t play the game before that, and I don’t know why. I guess because Kidd wanted to see what would happen if he, instead of playing Beasley more, gave Rashad Vaughn 30 minutes (to be fair, Beasley was Waffle-Fries- and-Ice-Cream Beasley last game, it was so bad). The roles have been reversed in tonight’s contest: Beasley got the big minutes, and Vaughn got the healthy scratch. Beasley paid Kidd of for showing confidence in him, scoring 11 quick points and finishing with 17.
Oh, and the Bucks lost. Again. These are dark times, my friends.
