Wayne Ellington 19 Points Full Highlights (1/28/2017)

Wayne “Beef W” Ellington has really been making it Wayne during this unexpected seven-game winning streak for the Heat. One could even say that he is solely responsible for the winning streak. That’s right. I’m going there. Not only am I going there, I’m ALREADY there. That’s how hyped I am for Beef W’s sweet-looking three-point shot, a shot that he has now decided he can shoot even if his defender has aggressively closed out on him. If the Waynemaker and his threes didn’t exist, how many wins would the Heat have right now? Maybe ten at most. Probably more like five. Or zero.

One interesting thing about Beef W is that, while he’s never been even an average rebounder, in the past he was at least a rebounder in the sense that he would sometimes get rebounds. This season, he’s had multiple games with zero rebounds (despite playing twenty or thirty minutes) and his season high is five. That’s like J.J. Redick or Jamal Crawford levels of non-rebounding. To put that stat in context, Brook Lopez gets three times the rebounds that Beef W does. I know rebounding doesn’t matter for a shooting guard, but I’m struggling with material for these damn descriptions and I thought it was cool so if you want to keep hating, please do so somewhere else.
