Tomas Satoransky is playing so well in the absence of John Wall that I am willing to forgive the Czech Republic for Jan Vesely. Satoransky may need a few more good games before I am willing to forgive George Zidek, though. That one hurt a lot.
Failed countrymates aside, Sato has surprised me with his competence in his new role. He didn’t show much last year, and I figured he would pick up some DNPs this year then disappear back to Europe forever. Not so! He might still disappear back to Europe forever, but at least he’s going to wait until the end of the season to do it. If I was in the business of making Euroleague highlights, I’d actually be in favor of the move; I bet he’d average 20 and 10 for Red Star Belgrade.
The only problem with this sudden display of ability is that Tim Frazier isn’t the one doing it. I’m the biggest Tim Frazier homer in the whole universe, and if he can’t even put up double-doubles while Wall is injured, he’s never going to be able to. I’m not giving up on my dream of a Wizards team featuring Frazier as the main attraction, but it’s looking grimmer by the day.
Life pro-tip: do not set dreams where you literally have no control over whether they’re reached or not.
