Does Donovan Mitchell, in your opinion, have “The Eye of the Tiger”? The answer, of course, depends on what “The Eye of the Tiger” is supposed to represent. That’s a question I can’t help with. The only “Eye of the Tiger” that I know of is an 80’s arena rock classic, and I don’t think that’s literally what the Jazz commentators were talking about when they said he had it. It’s totally a metaphor for something, but for what?
“It’s the eye of the tiger, it’s the thrill of the fight
Risin’ up to the challenge of our rival”
I can see those lyric fragments applying to Donovan Mitchell. Totally. The way he chucks shots all the time, not scared of anything, not even Quin Snyder. If you want to hear the rest of the lyrics, to see if there’s more in there that may apply to Mitchell, here’s the song for your enjoyment: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
