No Markkanen, no problem. No one on the Bucks could handle Bobby Portis tonight. Neither could they handle Robin Lopez, but he’s not the one who just got a career-high in points. Thon Maker, in particular, made me wish that he was back in Canada going through high school for the third time.
Portis basically won the game for the Bulls tonight with his 13 fourth-quarter points, and he did it while one of his protuberant eyes was busy looking all diseased. He must have been able to see out of it a little bit, because he started splashing threes the second he came into the game. After a while of that, he got bored and decided to start abusing whichever useless bigman the Bucks had manning the paint.
I’m not even mad. I should be, because of how unfair it is that Portis should get a career-high 27 against MY team, but I’m not. I’m happy. I’m happy that the Bulls are winning a few games despite their scrubby lineups, and I’m happy that Portis is playing a big part in that.
