Denzel Valentine: fastest gun in the East? When this guy is tasked with taking a catch-and-shoot three with a defender somewhere in the area, he just flings it up there. It’s not Anthony Morrow-level don’t-even-dip-the-ball-just-shoot-it-from-wherever-you-caught-it, but he doesn’t take much time at all. That, combined with his lack of follow-through, mean that he has one of the odder shot forms in the league. No Shawn Marion means that the bar for odd shot forms has been raised, so it’s not too bad.
And he makes it work, as he’s shooting almost 40 percent from three on the season. I’d be hyped for his overall improvement over his rookie season, but I just looked, and he’s already 24. There goes that. He’s old as dirt. His development is over, and if the Bulls are lucky, they might be able to get a second-round pick for him. I know teams don’t like to trade within their own division, but I bet the Bucks could use him. Yeah. Just trade him to the Bucks or something and start worrying about the players with real potential on that team.
