JOHN HENSON JUMPSHOT ALERT! JOHN HENSON JUMPSHOT ALERT! JOHN HENSON HAS MADE A JUMPSHOT! ALERT ALERT ALERT
John “Captain Hook” Henson, as his nickname suggests, is infinitely more comfortable taking sweeping hook shots than he is taking jumpshots. He has, over the course of his career, fluctuated between “never ever taking jumpers” and “taking too many jumpers for his skill level”. This year, he’s not taking many of them at all, but when he does take them, they’re smooth, confident, and they don’t airball like they would in the past. He might not ever get to the point where he’s a threat to scorch you with jumpers, but he can at least get to the point where you leave him wide open at your own peril.
Side note: do any diehard Bucks fans remember when Andrew Bogut hit, like, two jumpshots in a game and then told the media that he was going to shoot five of them in every game from that point forward? Was that a joke, or misplaced confidence, or something said to get the reporters to shut up? Because he took almost no jumpshots after that point even though I was seriously hyped that he would.
