If these national TV commentators bring up the fact that Gerald Green was cut by the Bucks before the season started, I’m going to start a novelty twitter account called “NBA on BSPN” where I make fun of various ESPN personalities interspersed with crude descriptions of excretory functions. I KNOW that the Bucks had him and didn’t want him. I know that, and I don’t especially like to be reminded.
It’s not like he’d even be good for the Bucks if we had retained him. The Bucks have a habit of not getting the best out of their players, especially the ones deeper on the bench. The Rockets are a much better fit, for reasons that I don’t even need to go into. Here’s a hint if you’re still confused: it has to do with three-point shooting.
Green hasn’t been the same since he got suspended for attempting to kill Austin Rivers with a crowbar after storming the Clippers’ locker room, and even before that. We knew that his blazing three-point shooting wasn’t going to continue, and it hasn’t. He’s still getting them up, though. That’s what you want to see, I think. Confidence. The confidence to shoot a ton of shots without even thinking about it.
