Joe “Ball Hog” Young is already 25 years old. And he had been held scoreless in 8 of his last 9 appearances before tonight. I was thinking about getting hyped for him, but after finding out those two nuggets of primo information, I’m going to reserve my hype until he puts together a solid, consistent streak of games.
That’s probably not going to happen unless Darren Collison stays injured for a lot longer than the two weeks or so he’ll be missing. Also, Victor Oladipo probably needs to stay pukey as well. If we really wanted to see the best out of Young, we’d also have to do something about Cory Joseph, like convince him he got traded back to the Raptors so he goes away to Canada and gets trapped there forever after someone “accidentally” chucks his passport into Niagara Falls.
With all the goose eggs Young’s been putting up, it was a bit of a shock to see him go out there and knock down five triples. For reference, he hit five triples the WHOLE season last year, and only ten the season before that. The long-ball is not his forte, but you never would’ve known watching him tonight.
