Rodney Hood is involved in trade rumors right now, which is definitely a good thing. Jazz fans are about done with him, as far as I can tell, even though he’s not even that much worse than the deified Donovan Mitchell. I can think of some fanbases who would, at least initially and assuming their team didn’t get totally fleeced in the trade, be really happy with what Hood brings to the table.
Also this assumes he doesn’t come straight off the plane in his new city and starts knocking all the cell phones he sees out of peoples’ hands. Those sort of actions will turn a fanbase on you right quick.
This was just about the perfect time for him to show off his talents. The trade deadline is fast approaching, and recency bias is a legit and heavily studied psychological phenomenon, so you know there will be one team that sees these highlights (maybe even THESE highlights) and decides that they have to have the guy who can score 30 while going 12 of 14 from the field on mostly long jumpers. That team will probably be Cleveland, because I think they just want to trade everybody and start over with a new centerpiece.
