Jahlil Okafor 15 Points Full Highlights (2/6/2018)

The Nets are investing in Jahlil “Jersey Dropper” Okafor. They traded away Tyler Zeller so that there would be no impediments to him receiving minutes. He’s probably not beating out Jarrett Allen for the starter’s gig any time soon, but he’s probably going to be getting semi-consistent minutes from here on out.

That’s what you have to do when a former top-2 pick falls in your lap: try your hardest to squeeze any bit of potential out of him. There was a reason he was picked so high, and it’s your job to find that reason and nurture those tendencies. In Okafor’s case, that means letting him do what he does best, which is posting people up and doing a bunch of moves that look like travels but who really knows what a travel is any more.

If they wanted to let him shoot a few jumpers that would be cool too. Realistically, if he’s going to be anything in this league he has to have a usable jumpshot.
