Every time I use the word “fight” in the title of a video, I get a little uneasy, for several reasons. First reason is, advertising that the video contains a “fight” (usually just a scuffle or exchange of words) feels like clickbait. I’m not Buzzfeed here. Second reason is, I know that the NBA really would rather not have videos of in-game fights circulating on the YouTubz. If Barton and Troy Daniels had actually exchanged punches instead of just shoving each other, I would have to think hard about whether I wanted to show the punches in the highlight video. I don’t want my channel to get deleted. I don’t even want a single video to get deleted. Third reason, I’ve never been in a fight in my life so it seems disingenuous to advertise fights like I’m a big proponent of them myself.
I don’t even know what happened to cause Daniels and Barton to engage in their little tussle. Was there some contact somewhere that Barton didn’t appreciate? Did Daniels ask him, “Do you even lift, bro?” as they ran down the court? Were the sexual promiscuities of either one of their mothers invoked in a negative light? I’m not sure, but all I know is they’re lucky that the Suns’ Alan Williams was on the bench in a suit. He’s built like a monster truck/grizzly bear hybrid and he could probably knock out every player on both teams before anybody realized what was going on.
