Cavaliers fans pretended, right after the Cavs traded for him, to care about George Hill. This was, I think, the first time that a fanbase or even anyone at all had cared (or in this case, pretended to care) about him.
It didn’t last long. I think Cavs fans hate him now, after his less than perfect start for his new team. At best, they’re indifferent. They’re thinking about how unfair it is that they don’t have Stephen Curry or Russell Westbrook, and who can blame them? If I had Hill on my team I would just about die from indifference.
This is his best scoring game of the season. That doesn’t excite you, and it doesn’t excite me, but it does mean that maybe he is not cursed to suck for the whole rest of his career. That’s a positive revelation as it pertains to Cleveland’s championship chances. Still sort of concerning that even with an unexpected bonanza from him that they could only barely beat the Nets (who suck), but if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s to never count out a team with Cedi Osman on it.
